Frequently asked questions
In what order should I read the topics?
Follow the areas in the order of the course: start with Measurement & Math Tools and Kinematics, then Newton's Laws, Work and Energy, and Momentum, before moving on to rotation, oscillations, waves and the later topics.
What do the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced labels mean?
Beginner topics need only arithmetic and basic algebra. Intermediate topics add trigonometry, vectors and some calculus. Advanced topics use differential equations, linear algebra or modern theory such as quantum mechanics and relativity.
Are the topics the same as a textbook chapter?
No. Each topic is a short, focused explanation of one idea, so you can look up a single concept quickly. It works well alongside a textbook rather than replacing one.
How many topics are there in total?
There are over one thousand topics across twenty-one areas, from measurement and kinematics to particle physics and cosmology.
Can I search for a topic by name?
Yes. Use the search in the interactive app, or scan the area lists on this page and open the topic you need.
